OMEN by HP 15-dc1086nr

I recently had to replace my laptop’s 150 watt ac adapter because the last one stopped working, but the new one won’t charge my laptop. I get the white light that tells me it’s plugged in, but the orange charging light only stays on for a second or two before turning off. I thought about unplugging the battery, but it’s internal. I also can’t install a BIOS update because the pc doesn’t think it’s plugged in.

Did you replace it with an original HP power adapter @150 Watts?

It’s not an hp marked adapter, but it looks the same and has the same plug diameter. The replacement is a model SK90B195770 ac adapter.

That may be the issue.

You can purchase one for a very low price on eBay or Amazon here in the US. Even new ones are pretty low priced.
