OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0023dx
Microsoft Windows 11

I've had this since purchase from Bes Buy.  When I type out a full sentence, I get some keys that just dont enter.  I thought it might be the way I type and I ended up not working for mst of the year and had this in my laptop bag.  I pulled it out again and now the keys are still the problem.  Ran thru the typical troubleshooting steps.  I updated the bios and keyboard drivers.  Reinstalled Windows 10.  Then I upgraded to Windows 11.  I contacted support's AI tech and removed the drivers and restarted.  I ran thru diagnostics as well.

At this point, since I'm officially 1 month out of my warranty, I'm going to try and purchase a new keyboard and give that a shot.  However, since I'm out of warranty, I've spent a few hours doing the warranty, support loop.  Other then buying off ebay, are there any official HP stores?

PS"  Had to edit this about 4 times to get the letters correct.

Does your model have the RGB keyboard? I ask because that's another layer of complications. It is a big job replacing the keyboard, since it is built into the top case, the entire laptop has to be taken apart and put back together.

Has anyone indicated success just removing the bottom cover and reseating the keyboard connector?

Yep it has the RGB Keyboard.  I'm experienced enough to take it apart and install a new keyboard, I've seen no obvious solution to this issue from the other posts that have had this problem.  And I'm a little frustrated by the warranty expiration which leads me to a loop of either paid phone call or posting here vs getting access to parts to repair it myself.

We're just experienced volunteers that help people out of warranty get their notebooks repaired either by themselves or to a local shop. Here's your Service Guide- http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06638089.pdf  On page 18 it list the various color to covers with keyboard that your laptop was hipped with. Further down is replacement procedures to do so. Get the Top cover/keyboard part number and do a google seach with that nuber. I get most of my parts from EBay myself, just be sure it's a new part, not "refurbished" and the seller has an excellent rating.

But if it were mine, I'd take the bottom cover off and reseat all the cables that go to the RGB controller and keyboard to see if it clears up before buying a new keyboard/top cover

Hey I appreciate the information.  I had no idea you were just volunteers.  I'll give that a shot first before I go with the purchase of a keyboard.
