Hi everyone,
I’ve been having serious stability issues on my HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 inch, Model 14-fh0025TU Next Gen AI PC.
Here are some details:
9 September:
4:05 PM: The PC became unresponsive, with both a browser and the Windows button not working.
4:06 PM: A Windows update was noted.
4:18 PM: The PC started experiencing repeated freezes.
4:21 PM: The Phone Link app stopped responding.
4:22 PM: Desktop icons were not responding.
4:24 PM: An "Aw Snap" error appeared.
4:30 PM: The Edge browser would not start.
4:34 PM: The taskbar and Windows key stopped responding.
4:38 PM: The Task Manager was inaccessible.
4:40 PM: I performed a hard reset.
4:46 PM: Chrome was unresponsive.
4:48 PM: Both Chrome and Edge were unresponsive, and pop-ups couldn't be closed.
5:03 PM: Chrome would not open quickly.
5:10 PM: The entire system became unresponsive.
10 September:
9:49 AM — Log-in screen unresponsive; required hard reboot
9:52 AM — Windows Update completed
10:39 AM — Windows Search (via taskbar) unresponsive; required hard reboot
1:35 PM — Chrome became unresponsive; Edge remained stable. Closed and reopened Chrome — became responsive again
1:35 PM – 5:00 PM — PC stable and in continuous use
5:00 PM – 11:13 PM — PC not in use
11:13 PM — Start (Windows) key unresponsive to left-click, but still responds to right-click (including Shutdown menu)
I have run the following, with no errors reported:
✅ DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
✅ sfc /scannow
✅ chkdsk C: /f /r
In recent days, I have been running Hardware Diagnostics.
Here’s a summary of my test results:
Hours | RAM | SSD | |
WD Drive Utilities | 11 | n/a | Passed |
built-in UEFI diagnostics - no errors | 12 | Passed | Passed |
memtest86 | 12 | Passed | n/a |
BurninTest | 5 | Passed | 120 Errors (Data Verify failure) |
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows - Extensive Test | 0.5 | Passed | Passed |
Total testing hours: 40
On the basis of the BurninTest results, the SSD is faulty.
The unit has a Carepack warranty.
What do I have to do to get HP to replace the unit?
Regards,
Leigh
