Dear Paul_Tikkanen,

I really appreciated the solutions you provided for the same laptop model.
I'm considering upgrading my RAM, so could you please help me with the following?
There are two RAM slots available, and HP has installed 8GB of RAM running at 2400MHz in one of them. Does my system have the capacity to support RAM operating at 3200MHz?
If yes, would you advise me to choose between replacing the HP RAM that was already installed with a new 16GB (or 8 x 2) RAM that is operating at 3200MHz or getting a new 8GB RAM that is operating at 2400MHz and installing it in the second slot?

Additionally, kindly confirm that the product below fits my laptop:

Its specs

You may be able to install 3200MHz or 2666MHz RAM but machine will run at 2400MHz

It has 8GB now, you can simply add SAME existing RAM to slot 2 use the following RAM

                Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM

You can upgrade to 32GB if you wish.

Regards.

Dear @Banhien

Thank you for the solution, but I would like to know why the new 16GB of RAM running at 3200MHz would continue to run at 2400MHz when I replace the 8GB of RAM running at 2400MHz that HP had already installed. In other words, slot 2 stays empty while the new 16GB RAM, which runs at 3200MHz, is installed in place of the old RAM in slot 1.

Once a new RAM module is installed, do I need to configure it in the BIOS, or can I just use it right away?

Dear @banhien,

I purchased 8GB of DDR4-2400MHz RAM, Can I use it immediately after installing it in the board's second slot, or do I need to configure it in the BIOS?
