I need to calibrate the battery. But when I go to UEFI setting as per the HP support battery calibration steps. The spinner is stuck at 40 % for hours. No progress what so ever.
How do I fix this?

@Obirah, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your OMEN by HP Gaming Laptop is getting stuck at 40% while attempting battery calibration via UEFI settings, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Battery Calibration Using Battery Health Manager:
- Instead of using the UEFI setting, use HP Battery Health Manager:
- Restart your laptop.
- During startup, repeatedly press ESC until the Startup Menu is displayed.
- Press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
- Navigate to the Advanced tab using arrow keys.
- Select Battery Health Manager and follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate your battery.
Manual Battery Calibration Procedure:
- Manually discharge and charge the battery for proper calibration:
- Fully charge your battery until 100%.
- Disconnect the power and use your laptop until it drains completely and shuts down automatically.
- Reconnect the charger and charge it to 100% without interruption.
- Repeat this cycle 2-3 times to calibrate your battery manually.
Update BIOS:
- Sometimes a BIOS update can resolve calibration issues:
- Visit the HP Support Website and locate the latest BIOS update for your model.
- Download and install the update following the instructions provided.
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Tool:
- Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to test and calibrate the battery:
- Shut down the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press ESC repeatedly to enter the Startup Menu.
- Press F2 to select the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Select Component Tests and then select Power to test and calibrate the battery.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately nothing worked. The major problem beyond the battery calibration is the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI which is blocked at 40% !!
For 1) I don't have the “advanced” section in my bios (see picture) At least I didn't find any mention of “advanced” in the pages I accessed.
For the 2) I haven't tested it yet, but as I said, I want to fix the 40% problem as a priority.
For 3) The bios is up to date, everything is up to date!
For the 4) As said in the origiinal post , HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI remains blocked at 40% so I can not do it
Can you help me,
Sincerely
