My computer was acting up this morning. Would automatically volume down no matter what. I restarted. Now I’m stuck on this screen. No matter what I do, can’t get past it. Tried F9 and all

Hi @Rataexperta,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP computer. If you're stuck on a screen and unable to proceed, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Perform a hard reset: Power off your computer completely, unplug it from the power source, and remove the battery if it's a laptop. After a few minutes, plug it back in and power it on to see if the issue persists.
  • Check for error messages: Take note of any error messages or specific details displayed on the screen. This information can help diagnose the problem more accurately.
  • Boot into safe mode: Restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key (or F4 key on some systems) before the Windows logo appears. This should bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there, select "Safe Mode" and see if your computer starts up properly. If it does, you might have a software issue or conflicting driver causing the problem.
  • Use the Startup Repair tool: If you have a Windows installation disc or a system repair disc, insert it into your computer and boot from it. Then, choose the "Startup Repair" option to automatically diagnose and fix any startup issues.
  • Restore to a previous restore point: In safe mode or using the Windows installation disc, you can try performing a system restore to a previous point in time when your computer was functioning correctly. This will revert your system settings to an earlier state without affecting your personal files.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
