Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

HP Pavilion 14-al001nt (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had this problem before and it was fixed when I changed the battery, but now it happened again. The battery charges upto a point (%67 this time) but then it does not increase. If I don't plug out the adapter it stays %67, so the adapter continues working. The number varies each charging. I tried to callibrate battery many times, but it did not help. When I do hardware diagnostics, it only shows an error if I try to do the diagnostics when the battery is at maximum charge (for example %67), other times it passes the diagnostics.

The error code in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is 9AM7T9-87L9MH-MFPX7G-C0FB13

However the error code in HP Battery Chechk is slitly different with just one number 9AM7T9-87L9MH-MFPX7G-C0FB23

I couldn't find what do they mean in the internet and hp support. Is there a way I can learn their meanings? If I need to change the battery (internal battery) can I buy and do it myself, otherwise can hp service change it without reseting the computer (because last time they reset the PC, but there were few other repairs so I don't know if the reset was for the battery)?

@onuralpkrc Welcome to HP Forums Community!

I've verified and decoded both the failure ID's (using an internal software) and they both represent a battery 1 failure, code 601.

To answer your question, yes you can replace the battery on your own (if available for shipment - the steps to replace the battery are mentioned on Page. 33, Component replacement procedures)

If the device isn't under warranty anymore, you can order the part on HP Parts Store, you can find the universal part number using the above link and the same can be used to order them on local online stores such as eBay, Amazon, etc...as well.

However, if your device is covered by a warranty and you want to send the PC over to repair, you may want to give them special instructions to save your data and they should be able to help you with the same, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options:

follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
