I am hoping that i have misunderstood what i read about my laptop.
I think i read that with the Windows 10 home 64 operating system that the max memory i can have on my laptop is 128GB which is what it came with. I was wantng to install an ssd.

It has 128 GB M.2 SSD (to cut prices) currently and you can have few more options
(a) Keep it as Windows drive and add up to 2TB of 2.5" HDD/SSD to HDD bay/slot simplest.
(b) Replace it with larger (capacity) M.2 SSD (more work)
(c) Do both (a) and (b) (a lot more work).
Windows 10 can address more than 128GB.
