Officially it supports 16 gigs of DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM memory. It comes with 8 gigs (1 x 😎 and an open slot so you could add an 8 gig DDR-2400 SO-DIMM module to have 16. In fact, it will work with a total of 32 gigs (2 x 16 gigs) but that is overkill for most users.
The battery is internal. Replacing it requires opening the case. But so does adding memory.
