I need to know what specifically to buy to upgrade my memory to more than 8 GB. Can someone direct me to a link to what I need to buy or what specific is compatibly with my laptop? I need this urgently for school.

Hi:

HP doesn't have a service manual for your notebook's model series.

They only have the one for the older 14-dh0xxx model series.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC

If your notebook has an Intel core processor it has two memory slots.

The models with the Intel Pentium processors may only have one memory slot.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support.

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Let me know what model processor your notebook has, what the report you ran indicates, and how much memory you want to upgrade to.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.

My laptop has an Intel Core Processor and currently 8 GB RAM but it says max capacity is 32 GB. I think 16GB would most likely be enough for memory for my schoolwork. Can you direct to a certain one that’s compatible with my laptop or that you recommend? I’m not sure which brand to get or what specifications I need to ensure I get.

You're very welcome.

This would be the compatible 8 GB memory chip I recommend that you install in the empty slot.

The service manual should be of help to take the notebook apart to install the memory.

This video may also be of help.
