Hi all,
I have a HP Pavilion x360 14-ba048sa. Recently it stopped charging and wouldn't turn on, i tried multiple power adapters that work on other HP laptops but it still won't charge. I've tried holding the power button in for 30 seconds, disconnecting the battery and ive replaced the DC jack power port.
It won't turn on with the battery disconnected and power cable connected. All I get is an orange light for a few seconds before it goes out. Is there anyway of saving this laptop?
Thanks

I see that your notebook is from the 2017 model year.
With that amount of time in service there exists the strong possibility that the battery has no more service life and needs to be replaced.
Were you experiencing shutdowns at 70% or less charge capacity before this happened?
Why did you replace the DC power jack? was it broken?
Only use power adapters that produce the same voltage output and wattage as the original unit. Power adapters are not one size fits all.

Thanks for the quick response.
No I did not experience any problems with the battery beforehand, the fact that the laptop won't turn on even without the battery connected says to me that the battery is not faulty.
I merely replaced the DC Jack as a means of troubleshooting but it produces the same result.
I always ensured to use the power adapter provided with the notebook, I just used another to check if the power adapter was faulty but it seems to work on another HP laptop so the power adapter is fine too.

Since I can't actually see what the notebook does, I am a bit handicapped.
I would suspect either the battery or the system board.
The battery is far less expensive than a replacement motherboard.
Batteries do not last forever and sometimes when they fail they are just done.
