I wanted to upgrade my RAM from 8GB to 16GB. On checking my current specs, I found out that my current RAM is 2400MHz. I wanted to know whether a 2666MHz 16GB DDR4 RAM would work on my laptop as it's the option provided to me by a local dealer. The model provided to me is:

Hi:

 

Yes, that chip should be fine.  It will automatically 'downclock' or 'bridge' to 2400 MHz.

 

Your notebook only has one memory slot, so you will need to remove the 8 GB chip and install the 16 GB chip in its place.
