Hi,
I've just bought a Pavilion 15-Cc598n with the intention of installing a SATA SSD (WD Blue 500GB) as a second drive.
On opening the back, I found nothing to plug into (doh).
The brackets & cable (L19469-001 & L23889-001) seem to be expensive or unavailable (I'm in the UK).
I wonder if anyone could advise.
Are there alternatives to the L23889-001 cable?
Or should I return the SATA SSD and upgrade the M.2 drive instead. Will it take a 500GB or 1TB drive , and will this give me as good as havingtwo drives?
Thanks.

Welcome to the real world. Please allow me to answer your questions
1. Are there alternatives to the L23889-001 cable?
No choice, I've read stories about those, no right part they simply won't work. Please don't ask me why, could be simply one different pin or even shorter.
2. Or should I return the SATA SSD and upgrade the M.2 drive
This is your choice, from my view: two is better than one but around the world we still have more single storage machines than dual storage machines.
Regards.

Thanks Banhein,
Actually it's the 15-cw0996na (I don't know how I managed to put the other model, but I'm assuming the issues are the same on both?)
So, I have a couple of follow up questions:
1. Will most M.2 drives work? - I'm thinking of getting a Western Digital Blue 3D NAND 500GB M.2-2280 SSD
2. L23889-001 cable - do the ones on Ebay from china tend to work, or should I wait until a genuine HP product becomes available?
Thanks again
Sam
