Dear community,

I would like to ask you for help. My laptop started emmiting loud noise (I suspect it is the fan) on booting. At the beginning, restart would fix it, now it just won't go away. What i figured out is, that when i move the laptop a bit and the sound stops, i can gently put the laptop on the desk and all is well. But at the next booting, the sound starts again.

What i ruled out is that the fan noise is caused by highend temperature - all seems normal, no high vaules.

I have read a lot of solutions to this problem, so here are the things I tried:

Updated BIOS (Through the HP Support Assistant), along with other updates.

I have bought compressed air and blew it as was described towards the vents.

Tunred on HP CoolSense

My main question is, can i unscrew the bottom and try to have a look, without voiding the warranty? I own this laptop for about five months.

P.S.: I would really like to aviod putting the laptop to the service center to fix it - I can't afford a new external drive to backup all my files.

Thank you for your time!

Best regards

JackJames

To properly ventilate the computer, allow at least 7.6 cm (3 in) of clearance on the left side
of the computer. The computer uses an electric fan for ventilation. The fan is controlled by a temperature
sensor and is designed to turn on automatically when high-temperature conditions exist. These conditions
are affected by high external temperatures, system power consumption, power management/battery
conservation configurations, battery fast charging, and software requirements. Exhaust air is displaced
through the ventilation grill located on the left side of the computer.

Lastly, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.
