Hi Folks,
I was recently using my wife's Pavilion 15-cc500 for a Zoom meeting and noticed that the picture quality from the Pavilion's webcam is very grainy, lacking contrast and somewhat washed out, certainly when compared with the integral webcam on my HP Notebook - 17-ca1027na, and old external webcams on my HP dc7100 desktop and her Lenovo Ideacentre 720n desktop.
All camera drivers are up to date and working correctly according to Device Manager and I've also checked the camera settings which are set for highest quality on camera (1280x720) and on video (720p) and these settings are identical on my HP Notebook - 17-ca1027na. I've fiddled about with the brightness setting but it doesn't affect the contrast nor colour very much so am at a loss what else to try/test.
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks and stay safe.
George

Hi Banhien,
Thanks for the tip about the ring light and the link to a list of good ones. I'll certainly investigate them going forward but in the meantime I'm sure this isn't the main issue. My laptop under the exact same conditions on the same table and the same settings produces a much clearer and crisper image of the same subject at the same time.
Warmest regards.
George

Please give the object more light first (in this case your face). I actually use a cheap (under $10) ring light for Zoom meeting sessions. There are many similar around

or you simply use whatever light you have
Regards.
