HP Pavilion 15-cc5xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I bought a Kingston A2000M8/250GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD for my HP Pavilion 15-cc5xx laptop. I installed it on the laptop but the drive is not showing in the disk management nor in the BIOS.

BIOS only shows my pre-installed 1TB HDD. I checked the disk management of my laptop and the drive does not show there. I have watched a lot of YouTube videos on how to fix it and I always see an "unallocated" drive in their disk management but it's not showing on mine. I guess my laptop itself does not recognized the M.2 NVMe.

Does  A2000M8/250GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD supports my laptop?

Does my laptop supports 250GB storage M.2 NVMe PCIe?

I tried to check manuals of my laptop but I couldn't find specific manual for HP Pavilion 15-cc5xx. I have also updated the BIOS to F.09

Below are the info of my laptop:

Model: HP Pavilion Laptop 15-740TX

Product Name: HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cc5xx

System Family: HP Pavilion

Processor Type: Intel (R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @2.70GHz

Bios Version: F.09

BIOS Vendor: Insyde

I am hoping to receive a resolution because it's now being frustrating. I have done a lot of research and been figuring out the solution but still have no luck. I spent a lot with this m.2 and I don't want to buy another one 😞 Please help 😞

Hi:

I do not believe that NVMe SSD's are supported in the 15-cc5xx model series...see chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual at the link below.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06525445

Solid-state drive:
For use only on computer models with model numbers 15-cc1xx and 15-cc6xx:
● 512-GB, 2280, Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe), Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe)
solid-state drive
● 256-GB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe solid-state drive

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I've seen that but is it specifically referring to 15-cc1xx and 15-cc6xx, 'cause mine is 15-cc5xx

If it's really not compatible with my laptop, what m.2 type or version would be compatible?

TIA

You're very welcome.

That is correct.

Only the 15-cc1xx and 15-cc6xx model series support NVMe drives.

The rest of the models in the 15-cc model series including yours support SATA M.2 SSD's.
