Can I  replaced the laptop's hdd with an ssd?

Hi:

 

Yes, you can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

 

Your notebook may also have a M.2 slot which supports the installation of a SATA M.2 SSD, not NVMe.

 

See chapter 1 for the supported drive types.

 

Before buying a M.2 SATA SSD, open up the notebook and confirm the M.2 slot is there, because on a lot of HP notebooks the slot is not there unless the PC originally came with a M.2 SSD from the factory.
