Has anyone yet installed an M.2 SSD in their Pavilion 15-cc598na? If so, can they let me know where the M.2 slot is located on the system board? Is there a screw supplied? And which make/model of SSD did you install?
I'm considering getting a WD Green 240GB (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-1413603-Green-Internal/dp/B078WYS5K6) or WD Blue to use as my boot drive, relegating the existing 1TB HDD to file storage. Is this a good option?
Thanks for the advice.

Here is the Service Manual:
See p. 2. It can support a 2.5 inch hard drive and also a SATA-3 type M.2 disk at the same time.
I did have one of these models (not your exact one but also covered by this manual) and added a SATA M.2 to the hard drive.
Pages 37-43 for how to on removing bottom cover. Looks like this inside:
M.2 slot circled in red
Mine did not have a mounting screw for the M.2 since HP did not supply the laptop with an M.2 disk. I have a rather extensive screw collection, however. Its a Phillips PM2.0×2.3 screw.
I personally like the Samsung 860 Evo M.2 but the WD Blue or Green M.2 will work.
Yes make the M.2 the bootdisk and the HDD for storage. Get at least a 256 gig M.2. Smaller is too restrictive.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed.
