Product: Pavilion 0051
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I upgraded the HDD drive to an SSD and thought I'd also boost the RAM. It had an 8GB already installed so in the other slot I added another 8 that I bought from Best Buy, a PNY brand. I got the black screen with 3, 2 flashing lights from the Caps Lock.

 

I took the PNY memory out and it booted up just fine. Is the problem with the memory I'm trying to add? Brand? Is there something to update before I add it?

It has 8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now and supports 16GB (2 x 8GB). You can use SAME existing 8GB of RAM or use the following compatible RAM

I don't know what is the specs of PNY RAM.

Those are the specs of the PNY brand. Do both need to be from the same brand?
