HP Pavilion 15-cs2064st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Pavilion 15 cs2064st.  It came with 8 GB DDR4 SDRAM installed and another 16 GB Intel Opthane Memory (presumably graphics).

I would like to upgrade the DDR4 SDRAM to at least 16 GB, but 32 GB is preferred (if possible).  Unfortunately, the identified HP Service centers located near me do not provide this service, and have recommended I try to do this myself so I have come to the community to request assistance.

Can this laptop model support 32 GB DDR4 RAM, and if so what part number(s) do I need to purchase for this RAM ?  If not 32 GB, can it support 16 GB, and what part number(s) for that?

How do I install it?  I haven't yet checked for videos on YouTube, but suspect there are some.  I would greatly prefer to have a video from an actual HP Tech Service, though.  If anyone can provide me a link to one it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance to the Community for any assistance you can provide!

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

Officially the notebook supports 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory, but you may be able to install 2 x 16 GB.

You can do this to see how much memory the notebook can actually support...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

The Crucial memory site indicates that this 16 GB memory part number is compatible, so you can buy two of them.

Or the 32 GB kit...It's basically the same price as buying two individual 16 GB chips.
