HP Pavilion 15 cs3020ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I bought HP Pavilion 15 cs3020ca and when I started to use it I found out that there is strong fan noise under load. The load I mean not gaming but Chrome and other regular processes. There is only one fan inside.

This noise is not noticeable in normal surroundings, but when it is quiet, the noise really annoys ... The noise is not constant, it depends. But even if the temperature is normal near 40C, the fan sounds like an air turbine engine. Who can tell what can be done with this? I do not think that this is a marriage of the product, it is because of one fan, not two and it accelerates and creates additional noise. Maybe is it possible to programmatically configure it speed or replace the fan itself with another type? Thanks.

@Vovan-Jan Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Community!

I understand that you are getting the loud fan noise from the laptop fan.

Please try to update the chipset drivers and BIOS.

Please click the below link to download the drivers.

Hi Praveen196!

Thanks for the advice. But it does not work. The Bios system did not accept a new driver...

The chipset I updated using the HP Support Assistant. It checked drivers automatically and now it is all up-to-date . I think this is an unsuccessful design of both the fan and the holes in the case for cooling. Even if the fan runs at low speeds, it still sounds like a turbine. My only one proposal to choose another type of fan...

  • Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean
  • Increasing the efficiency of the notebook to reduce heat

Hi Riddle_Decipher.

Thanks for the advice.  I read the same that you advised to @zachw63  with his NEW laptop HP Pavilion 15t 3DY10AV_1 posted from  ‎02-05-2019 04:22 PM.  Both laptops are new and have the same problems: an annoying noise... He updated BIOS and the same... I can't install the latest sp99088 because the system informs me: "This BIOS update is not compatible with this device" (link https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-15-cs3000-laptop-pc-series/29133460/mod...).  Using SpeedFan Utility, I can monitor the temperature of cores. Basically the cores are between 32-35C, one parameter "Temp 1" can be 51-52C. The fan runs slowly and nevertheless has an annoying noise ... If I touch with my ear to the bottom of the laptop I can hear the gnashing inside ... I believe that this is a construction defect and perhaps replacing the type of fan will help to solve this problem moreover I'm not one with this problem and I disappointed (my BIOS is: F.03-08/23/2019)
