I would like to know how much ram supports HP Pavilion 15-cw1043nl.

The HP Pavilion - 15-cw1043nl supports a max of 16GB of DDR4-2400 RAM (2*8GB).

 

Installation procedures begin here. (Page 58 of PDF) 

 

Part numbers of RAM are available in the service guide. You can then use the HP Spare part number(s) in the HP Parts store hereYou may also be able to find it elsewhere on the Internet.

 

However, other brands of RAM should generally all work. 

 

While using a different brand of memory won't cause problems, if you're planning on inserting another stick, just try to get another 8GB of DDR4-2400 which is what you currently have.
