HI all,
I am planning on buying a HP Pavilion 15-eg2955nd.
https://www.coolblue.nl/product/907763/hp-pavilion-15-eg2955nd.html
I wasn't able to figure out if there is space for another SSD disk (ex: Samsun EVO 860). Is there space and connections to add an extra SSD?
The only information I was able to find about the possible maximum memory indicates 16 GB (2 x 8GB). Is this correct? It seems very few. I was thinking in upgrading it to 32 GB (2 x 16 GB).
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Xpto

Hi:
Below is the link to the product specs for the model series with all of the available options.
HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 series specifications | HP® Customer Support
According to the specs, the max memory is 2 x 8 GB and there is only one M.2 NVMe slot, or HP would have listed a dual NVMe SSD configuration.
If you want additional storage, you will need to replace the 512 GB NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.
The Crucial memory report for the model series indicates that it can support up to 2 x 32 GB of memory.
HP - Compaq Pavilion 15-eg2000 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
If you decide to buy the notebook, you can do this to see how much memory it can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
I can't find a service manual for the model series, but here is a service teardown video for the older 15-eg0xxx model series.
If you skip to the section for replacing the system board, it only shows one M.2 SSD slot.
