Bought this laptop based on the great reviews. 8 months later screen went black. I didn't have the box or any info after that length of time. After business trips & much research I found local computer repair that said they would work with me in contacting HP since it was still under warranty. They sent it off to HP for repair (instead of repairing it local like they told me they would). After a little over 2 months, I got my computer back. First day home, screen worked great but battery drained quickly. Charging it up took all day, it said "connected but not charging". Returned it to local repair and they checked the battery (which is was ok), now they are thinking OS or Motherboard issue. The sad part is that now it is no longer under warranty. Has anyone else had this/these issues? What can I do now that it is no longer under warranty?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
2. Expand batteries.
3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
4. Shut down the computer.
5. Disconnect the charger.
6. Remove the battery.
7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
8. Insert the battery only.
9. Attempt to turn the battery on.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
