Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I bought a HP Pavilion 15-p001tx Notebook PC in 2015. Suddenly yesterday it went dead and was neither turning on not charging, there is no LED indication and it is completely unresponsive.

I suspect it could be a motherboard issue. Can someone please help?

The battery is the clip-in/clip-out kind so remove it. Remove AC power. Hold down the power button 20 seconds or so. Now plug in just AC power not battery. See if it powers on or at least shows an indicator light next to the power port. If it still does not come on the only easy fix would be if the power supply is dead and you can have it tested or get another known good AC adapter. If none of this works I share your suspicion about the motherboard.
