I have an HP Pavilion 15z-AW000CTO that is about 7 years old. A few months ago ive noticed a bulge under the keyboard and pressing on the bottom cover and I suspected the battery is wrong, also the battery won't go past 2 hours or so, i know i may be late but i was downloading some drivers and i saw the battery recall banner, and if the banner appeared i guess it must be still active.
I ran the battery recall utility which said mine was not eligible which is unsettling as I found quite a lot of complaints of bulging batteries in many models of HP laptops. I have checked other hp forums that said not to worry about bulging batteries but, when I opened the computer and found both cells of the battery abnormally bulged, I'm afraid that could hurt the motherboard and keyboard.
battery serial is 01413 11/07/2016
manufacturer 313-54-31

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
When laptop batteries age, at some point in time they become defective. Like they bulge and/or start leaking, and most certainly start losing its ability to hold a charge. That happens not just to HP laptop batteries, but to any laptop brand. Assuming your battery is also seven years old, that is ancient for laptop batteries. So, no, there is no warranty on old dying batteries.
You can purchase a quality HP p/n: 849909-855 "Assembly-battery 2C 41WH 5.36Ah LI BP02XL" replacement battery online, such as this purchase example in your country: https://dominican.desertcart.com/products/157665127-backupower-replacement-battery-for-hp-bp-02-xl-p....
