HP Pavilion 17-f018no
DAY23AMB6C0 REV: C
GPU: 216-0858020
CPU: AM5745SIE44HL
No content on the matrix and on HDMI. The CapsLock LED blinks twice (with 1 second intervals) followed by a 3-second pause and then repeats the sequence.
Current consumption from RAM about 1.5A.
Without RAM, 1.2A consumption and CapsLock flashing 3 times (1s interval) followed by 3s pause and repeating sequence. So here it responds correctly.
RAM changed, BIOS reprogrammed with the same batch and a different one.
I cannot find any information what the CapsLock double blinking on this board might suggest. On other generations, it suggests corrupt BIOS.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

This condition indicates the main area of the BIOS has become corrupted and no recovery binary image is available. Recover the BIOS.

Create a BIOS recovery file on a USB flash drive for your notebook computer.

  1. Make sure you have a second working computer with an active internet connection.

  2. Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

  3. Navigate to the product page for your computer.

  4. Select BIOS, and then review the details of the latest available version or the specific version recommended for the recovery. Confirm it is the correct BIOS update before you continue.

    CAUTION:

Read the Details section to confirm that it applies to the computer. Installing the wrong BIOS could cause the computer to stop working.

  5. Click Download, and then click Run.

  6. When the message The recovery flash drive was created successfully displays, click Finish.

Install a BIOS recovery file from a USB drive

  1. Turn off the notebook that requires the BIOS recovery, and then wait 5 to 10 seconds.

  2. Make sure the power cord is connected to the notebook. Keep it connected during the recovery process.

  3. Insert the USB flash drive with the BIOS file into an available USB port on the notebook.

  4. Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds. On some notebook models, it might be necessary to press and hold the Windows key and the V key.

Locations of the Power button and key presses on the keyboard

  5. Select Yes to confirm.

  6. Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B or V keys. You might hear a series of beeps.

The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the recovery begins automatically.

  7. Follow any prompts to continue the startup and complete the recovery.

    • If a message displays that the computer improperly shut down or a boot problem is detected, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the error.

    • If HP BIOS Update does not display or the issue persists, your computer might not support this function or there is a hard drive issue. Go to HP Customer Support for assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
