Hello all... I want to upgrade RAM Memory in my HP 17 ab208nm.. Before one month i bought a TRANSCEND RAM 16 GB SO DIMM 2400 MHZ one module... But after few days laptop start freezing and when i return old original RAM inside , it was working very well...
so i want know what is RAM maximum for this laptop and if i can upgrade to 16 GB i would like to know which RAM can i put inside..

You already have been in there so you may not need this but here is the Manual:
Page 43 shows how to on memory access. The laptop takes up to 16 gigs of DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM. That means HP is saying no single module can be larger than an 8 gig. We have had many reports, however, that 2 x 16 gigs or 32 gigs total will work. Again, that is not official and HP has no recommended 16 gig module. The specs say your laptop came with 2 x 4 gig modules. When you put the 16 gig module in did you leave in the original 4 gig module?

Can you tell us the part number or description (maker, etc.) of the RAM you installed? Would like to try to figure out why it did not work as a lot of people here ask about upgrading to 32 gigs.

I thought of buying now 2 x 8 gb 2400 mhz micron...
