HP Pavilion 17-ab403ng - execution of firmware update fails without error notification.

Could be the missing HP-Tools partition the cause?

Older HP notebooks have such a partition.

I see that you are facing issues with your system being unable to update firmware. Do not worry we are here to help you fix the issue.

May I know if you have made any hardware or software related changes to your system? 

May I know from when are you facing this issue?

Could you tell me if you have updated the BIOS in the other drivers on your system already? 

Please update windows on your system and let me know how it goes Select Start > Settings > Windows Update , then select Check for updates. If updates are available, you can choose to install them.

I had installed Windows on a new storage medium.

Windows does not create a partition named HP_Tools.

I have created a properly formatted and sized.HP_Tools partition subsequently, 

After this, the Bios update was executed flawless.
