HP Pavilion 17-e020us
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am wondering what the best SSD and processor upgrades are for my HP Pavilion 17-e020us Notebook PC.  The specs of the device are here.   I would like the SSD and the processor both to be from Intel.  I am looking for the upgrades that would make my PC the fastest.

The SSD needs to be around 500 GB (480 GB is fine) to 600 GB.

I was looking at this processor and at this SSD; are these compatible with my laptop?

A big thank you to anyone who helps me with this.

Here is the Service Manual:

Models with the i3-3110M processor have the CPU soldered to the motherboard, which rules out an upgrade unless the entire motherboard is replaced, and then you would need a motherboard, processor and heatsink and if you buy those you might as well buy a new laptop. .

That Intel SSD will work but good grief it is over 3 times the price per gig of the standard SSD in the market.

I suggest a Samsung Evo 850 and a 500 gig version of that model is $149.99 on amazon.com with prime shipping.

See page 49 for instructions for removing the hard drive and replacing it with an SSD.
