Howdy!
I have the following problem with my Pavilion G6 laptop:
The laptop is not charging the battery. When the battery is in and the power plug is connected, the LED on the power plug flashes white and flashes orange. You can also see this when you start the laptop: The battery symbol constantly shows that the plug is connected and disconnected. Thus, if the battery is completely discharged, the system cannot be started anymore...
If no battery is inserted, the LED of the charging socket simply flashes white. A really regular pattern is hardly visible. Sometimes it flashes five times, sometimes four, sometimes eight times. The laptop will also not start without a battery.
Does anyone know a solution for this problem? Is it the charging jack that needs to be changed? The mainboard seems to work on battery.
I have already tried another, definitely working power supply, but it stays like this.
I have attached the GIFs with the states.
Oh, I thought at first a BIOS update could fix it. So I downloaded one and tried to install it. Of course this only works if the laptop is running on the power supply. But I could force the installation by pressing the "Repeat" key several times. Strangely enough, the LED of the charging socket now glowed orange while the installation was running. But when the laptop was shut down, it started flashing orange and white again in alternation.
