Hey everyone! I'm upgrading my dads PC (He doesn't want to upgrade to a new laptop) which is an OLD HP Pavilion G-6 with a A6-4400M Processor. I believe the integrated graphics are failing because it isnt able to render saved videos. I'm trying to upgrade it to a A10-5750 which is compatible with the motherboard, however, HP no longer supports any BIOS updates. I need F.26 or F.48.

I transferred all files to an SSD which made the system 100 times more responsive and will be adding DDR3L ram after the bios update. I updated windows from 8 to 10 Home.

Thanks for reading and helping me on my side quest!

Below is the link to the latest BIOS update (F.2A) HP released for the g6-2200 notebooks with the AMD processors and chipsets:

HP Pavilion g6-2200 Notebook PC series Software and Driver Details

There were no such BIOS updates for the model series that you referenced.

You can see what the previous BIOS updates were by clicking to expand the Revision History section on the above link.

BTW...the AMD A10-5750 processor will not work in a g6-2200 notebook.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the list of supported processors:

The  AMD® A10-4600M processor is the best one supported.

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of the notebook?

You have to find BIOS updates by the model series, not what motherboard it has.

HP Recommended

It is the HP Pavilion G6-2235US.

Product number C2N50UA#ABA

Thank you.

Thank you so much Paul! This is exactly what I needed.

I've read some reddit forms which is where I got the idea of the 5750M, though I understand its at my own risk. I'm still a beginner but it's fun tinkering. I'll let you know what ends up working.

Cheers! 🙂

You're very welcome.

Just to let you know. The upgrade to the A10-5750M worked perfectly and is much faster than the original CPU. Thanks for your help.

That is great news, and thanks for letting us know that the A10-5750M works fine in the g6-2235us notebook.
