Hi:
I don't recommend leaving the adapter plugged in when you are not present and using the notebook if you don't plan on replacing it as soon as possible.
You never know what will happen when dealing with damaged electrical cords and what not.
But you can bet that the worst will happen when you are not around to prevent a bad situation from occurring if you leave it plugged in.
Chapter 3 of the maintenance and service guide on your notebook's support page has the supported power adapter part number you need.
HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1001na Manuals | HP® Customer Support
150 W L32661-001
You can buy a new power adapter from HP at the link below.
HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts
The power cord that goes from the wall socket to the power adapter is sold separately.
For use in the United Kingdom L19373-001
The power cord is on back order.
HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts
If the power cord is still in good condition, you would not need to purchase a new one.
Another thing you can do would be to do a search on eBay by the power adapter part number and find a used but tested and working genuine HP power adapter.
Those normally come with the power cord and will probably be less expensive that what HP charges for a new one.
