HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk0xxx / 7HR37PA#UUF / S/N - CND922334M
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I've been trying to find compatible ram upgrades for my pavilion gaming laptop purchased a few months back as it only comes with a stick of Samsung 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz. I've tried many times to find compatible ones to upgrade my machine to a dual-channel 16GB set-up. I've checked Crucial's website and tried their system scan tool which didn't return any results; they stated that my laptop has no compatible ram modules which are rather strange. So, how am I to go about finding a compatible ram upgrade when Crucial couldn't even suggest a suitable ram? Does anyone with the same laptop model or knowledge could perhaps provide some solution? I really would like to upgrade my ram capacity. Thank you in advance!

Hi, @Kukri17

I would use the crucial report from this model which also has the 9th gen core processor series as yours...

Yours would use the same memory.

These are the HP Part numbers for the memory modules:

Memory modules (2, DDR4, 2666 MHz, 1.2 V):

16 GB 937438-855

8 GB 937236-855

Comes from p. 20 of the Service Manual here:

You can buy on amazon.com in Europe or India and have it shipped to Malaysia using the service I linked above or just try to find memory like the amazon ad I linked above. 32 gigs (2 x 16) is the maximum memory. Your laptop now has a single 8 gig module so you can have 16 total by adding another 8 gig.

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

I see. I think I now know the best compatible Crucial ram to insert into my machine. Thank you so much for the information and have a great weekend ahead!

You're very welcome.

I have found that oftentimes when Crucial does not provide a report for a specific model, I back off the two alphabetical characters from the model, and then other models show up.

In the case of yours, two models showed up.

I checked the specs for both, and they both had the i9-9300 processors.

As long as the Crucial model report produces the same processor and chipset specs as the model needing to be upgraded, the report would be valid.

You have a great weekend too!
