HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello there!

I wanted to ask whether or not I could install 16 GB (2x8) 3200mhz into my HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk0xxx laptop.

I've also wanted to ask about whether or not I could possibly install a 16 GB RAM stick alongside the pre-installed 8 GB one to get a total of 24 GB of RAM.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

You can install a max of 2 x 16 GB of memory in your notebook.

If it has one of the processors listed in chapter 1, DDR4-3200 memory will work, but it will only run at 2666 MHz, which is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

A 16 GB + an 8 GB memory chip will provide 24 GB of memory, but the memory will probably run in single channel mode.

Normally for memory to run in dual channel mode, matching capacities of memory have to be installed (2 x 8 GB, 2 x 16 GB).
