Hello, just like at the topic.

I was wondering what is the maximum amount of RAM i can put to my laptop.

I was thinking about two of these ones Kingston FURY 16gb (1x16GB) 3200MHz CL20 Impact if 32GB is compatible and supported.

Thx for answer,

Hi:

I recommend that you use CL22 memory in your notebook if you are going to use DDR4-3200 MHz memory.

The reason for that recommendation is HP installed standard performance DDR4 memory with the standard CL timings.

If the memory they installed was DDR4-3200, it will be CL22.  If they installed DDR4-2666, it will be CL19 and if they installed DDR4-2400, it will be CL17.

Your notebook's BIOS may not be able to adjust to the faster CL20 timing speed and there is no way to make any changes to the memory XMP profile yourself.

However, if you want to try CL20 memory, that's up to you.

But if it doesn't work, you will know the reason why.

Your notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory and that is the speed that DDR4-3200 memory will bridge to.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info.
