Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

Hi,

 

My unit has 8GB RAM installed and I am planning to add 16GB to make it 24GB. However, I saw this (see image attached) from the Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion Gaming 15 Laptop PC and I get confused if 24GB  because it's not indicated in the documentation that it supports 24GB RAM configuration.

Hi:

 

The total memory supported is 32 GB.

 

24 GB should work fine, but it will only run in single channel mode, since you need matching memory capacities (2 x 8 GB, 2 x 16 GB) for the memory to run in dual channel mode.

 

2 x 16 GB isn't shown either.  Probably just an unintentional omission.
