Hello all,

Today I faced a weird issue while playing a small game on my laptop. The game is very small application and its not a high graphical game.

I experienced that the sound was suddenly interrupted in the middle of the game and the game application also slowed down for few seconds. This happened frequently while I was playing this game for half an error, after every few minutes their was interruption in the sound and again it was ok.

I am not sure if its a hardware issue or software issue. If its a hardware issue pls let me know which part of my laptop hardware is not working fine or needs to be replaced to avoid such issue. I also uploaded a video recorded so that you can better understand the issue and help me. Pls find link below, you will see the sound interruption in the starting if the video and after few seconds it will again play well and at the end of the video the interruption in sound will occur again.

Pls advice how can we fix this. Thank you so much for all your help and support in advance.

Best Regards

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hello KrazyToad,

Thank you for your help. I really appreciate you took out time to answer my question.

I tried updating all the drivers and the sound is not that frequent but still once I a while, I hear the same interruption and delay in application due to audio as recorded in the video shared in the previous posts.

Do you think there is any problem with my laptop audio hardware?

Pls let me know your opinion or if I can run any test to help you to guide me further.

I tried testing my audio using the HP support assistance and it said OK.

Not sure whats the problem.

Thank you again for your help!

Try running an Audio Test from F2 Diagnostic

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.

- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.

- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Audio

Hello KrazyToad,

I just formatted my computer and so far no problem with the audio, so I am good to go.

In the case in future, if I will face a similar issue, I will do the F2 check.

Thanks again for all your help!
