Yes. You can have an SSD and a hard drive. Here is a link to the Service Manual:
See pages 35 and 36. Shows removal of the back cover and what you see inside. The long rectangle in the lower right is obviously the battery. The hard drive is the rectangular thing in the upper right corner and right above the battery is the SSD slot for a "gumstick" shaped M.2 mSSD disk. Your laptop is able to use the fastest kind of storage on the market right now, a PCIe/NVME M.2 disk. You want to have one. They are up to 10 times as fast as a mechanical hard drive and you have to use a computer running from one of these to believe it. Instant on and everything just happens now.
Page 43 discusses how to install the SSD and this is the recommended part:
256 GB, PCIe 847109-020
This is the same part for a bit less, from amazon.com:
Post back to discuss software migration/reinstallation. There are many ways to skin that cat so will not go into it here.
