I have a HP Pavilion laptop purchased in March 2018. the right hinge was always a bit stiff but it never bothered me.  The hinge then started to look slightly displaced but there was still no issue.  It is now slightly popping off the back when it opens and it has to be pressed back in.  The hinge is looking significantly displaced and the display is feeling a bit loose.  It has come to the point where it does affect the use of the laptop.  I always had Toshiba laptops and my last one lasted years . I even dropped it down some stairs and it was absolutely fine.  This laptop has not been dropped banged or otherwise misused.  I am really disappointed in the quality and expected better.  I was wondering whether anyone knows how much it will cost to repair this.  If it is too much then I probably will leave it and just replace it instead (although not with a HP!).
