HP Pavilion 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was reading an article from a couple of years ago about the B and N keys suddenly stopping to work on the keyboard. My wife and I bought our HP Pavilions within a month of each other and 3 weeks ago, my B, N, and S keys stopped working. Needing an immediate solution to finish a project, I purchased an inexpensive laptop until could diagnose the Pavilion.

Interestingly, this morning my wife's identical Pavilion laptop experienced the loss of the B, N and = keys. I have blown out the keyboard with compressed air, reseated the keyboard plug, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and keyboards, all to no avail.

The timing if this similar issue with 2 HP laptops within the timeframe of purchasing makes me wonder if there is a obsolescence setting to trigger this incident.

@Epac252

I reviewed your post and I understand that some of the keys on the keyboard are not working.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you perform a test on the keyboard following the steps in the below article to make sure whether it is a software or a hardware issue.
