Pavilion m6-1062er
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I decided to upgrade my HP Pavilion m6-1062er. For now I want to upgrade CPU.  I have Core i5-3210M, and I chose Core i7-3540M. It suits with socket (FCPGA988) and TDP (35W). But Service Guide (made in 2012) doesn't mention that CPU (it is produced since 2013). Does my BIOS support a new CPU or not?

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you want to upgrade the processor on the notebook.

The processor would be integrated into the system board, so if he is planning to upgrade then he would have to replace the entire system board.

You can refer page no. 26 & 27 in this user manual for further assistance:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
