Hello Everyone,
I am looking to upgrade my 9 year old laptop as I cannot even open files like images and spreadsheet without the system buffering hence looking for your suggestions to the below. It is to be noted that I have been consulting a hardware technician in my locality.
1. The guy suggested switching my storage to SSD and change my HHD to the CD slot. I dont mind that but would like to know if my laptop has a NVMe M2 slot so I dont have to spend on a Caddy Slot. Is there anyway to know if I have a NVMe slot without opening my laptop?
2. After switching to SSD, my files would still be on a HHD so when I access them would they be slow?
3. I have an 8 GB RAM, do I need to add the same brand for additional RAM? He suggested DDR4 so will that be compatible with mine?
4. My current specs do not support an upgrade to Windows 11. The tech guy said that if I have TPM 2.0 I can upgrade it. Can we confirm on this?
Thanks in advance.

You do not have an NVME slot or any kind of M.2. Your fastest storage is a 2.5 inch SATA SSD which is a worthy upgrade. I would just get a large capacity one and forget about the DVD drive adapter. More trouble than they are worth.
Your model may not be labeled as Star Wars but its the same hardware:

The memory is DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM max capacity is 16 gigs (2 x 8). DDR4 is physically not compatible.
Windows 11 can be installed in a workaround. Post back if you want specific details.
