Hi Team,

I am looking to upgrade my HDD to SSD. Could you please help me with the correct model/interface that will be suitable with my laptop? I currently have a 1 TB HDD and want to change this to 1 TB SSD. I have performance issues with the laptop. My laptop model is HP Pavilion 15-au063nr.

Thanks in advance.

You have the option of either an M.2 SATA SSD or a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Here is what it looks like under the hood:

The rectangular thing is the hard drive and that can just be replaced with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD like this:

And then the smaller recagle to the left is an M.2 (gumstick) SATA SSD like this:

You would in my opinion want to add the M.2 and run the OS from it and then keep the 1 TB HDD for simple storage. Post back if you want details on how to do that. Please open the laptop and check to see if the slot for the M.2 is present. Some models in that series do not have it and if you have one of those it obviously means you have to go with the 2.5 inch. The speed of an M.2 and a 2.5 inch SATA SSD is about ths same so no performance difference. Viel Glueck.
