Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

My HP laptop’s performance on battery feels slow, but it runs normally when plugged in. My original HP battery had degraded completely, and due to the unavailability of an OEM battery, I had to purchase a third-party battery from an authorized HP store. I’ve had this battery replaced twice because I suspected it might be the issue, but I still face the same problem.

I’ve tried every possible solution, from updating drivers , updating graphics drivers(read somewhere that NVIDIA Graphics are causing some issues on Windows 11 25H2) to resetting Windows (Windows 11), but nothing has worked. The "HP Support Assistant" battery diagnosis reports the performance as normal, whereas "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows" shows the status as "Corrupt Capacity."

At this point, I’m unable to determine whether the problem lies with the battery, Windows, or the drivers. What I can I do to identify and solve the issue?

Hi @Kashish_16,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

The sluggish performance you’re seeing on battery is a classic case of a firmware + battery reporting conflict. Here’s how to break it down and isolate the cause on your Pavilion 15‑cs3006tx with the HT03XL battery:

Reset the printer.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
  • Wait for 2–3 minutes to clear any error states.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try printing again.

Please refer to this document to perform a battery calibration and hardware test:

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Hi @Kuroi_Kenshi

Thank you for your reply. There are two points I want to point out in your proposed solution:

1. The Pavilion 15‑cs3006tx is my laptop model number which I understood from reply you are confusing for a printer.

2. I have tried calibrating battery many times as mentioned in the attached link but since I made it in my problem statement that "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows" shows battery  status "REPLACE (47)", Logic State as "Corrupt Capacity (47)" with "Failure ID: Q4XL4C-A4SD3S-MFPXHA-C7VW03". The calibration process doesn't move forward from mentioned error message and stops right there.

All in all, The issue still perists with no solution working. I would really appreciate you and others to help me find way through this. Feel free to ask for relevant information.

Hi @Kashish_16,

Thanks for your repsonse and thank you for sharing those details so clearly. I completely understand how  it must feel to have your Pavilion 15‑cs3006tx slow down on battery, especially after trying calibration multiple times without success.

After validating the Failure ID: Q4XL4C-A4SD3S-MFPXHA-C7VW03, we can confirm that the diagnostics are pointing to a battery hardware issue.

Also Kindly ensure the BIOS is updated to the latest version. As you have mentioned you have installed third party battery.

The next step would be to have the battery physically replaced. To ensure your device receives the appropriate care, we recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.
