I have HP Pavilion Plus 14, bought from KSA, working fine for almost 2 years. Today after updating windows suddenly go a message that 90B fan is not working and system shuts down.

I have booted again but its running very slow. I read alot of discussions about the issue and I am aware of this one. What could be the reason. I have checked BIOS, they are up to date. I don't know if I try to remove lids and clean the fan. HP support is suggesting different things which are not helpful at all.

@drikram, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Hard Reset:

Turn off your laptop.

Unplug the power cable and remove the battery (if removable).

Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.

Reinsert the battery, plug it back in, and turn it on.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

Turn on the laptop, press Esc repeatedly.

Select F2 to run diagnostics.

Test the fan; if it fails, the fan might be broken.

Clean the Fan:

Use compressed air to blow out dust from the fan and vents.

Optionally, open the back lid and check if the fan is physically stuck.

Update/Remove Drivers:

Open Device Manager, look for Thermal Management or Fan drivers, right-click and Uninstall.

Restart the laptop, Windows will reinstall them.

Adjust Power Settings:

Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose Balanced or High Performance.

Under Advanced settings, make sure System Cooling Policy is set to Active.

Also, I suggest you refer to this guide: HP PCs - 900, 901, 909, 90A, 90B, 90E, 90F, 911 error is displayed on a black screen | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
