I recently bought an HP Pavilion Plus 14, laptop is amazing, very fast. HP specs say the device comes with a thunderbolt 4 USB C port. The laptop has the TB lightning sign on a USB C port. But I do not see thunderbolt in my device manager. When I search the laptop for thunderbolt, a USB4 screen opens.
I installed intel driver and support assistant and it did not detect a thunderbolt. The laptop has the intel evo certification which requires a thunderbolt 4.
I'm curious, how do I know if the lightning port is a thunderbolt 4 port. I want to be sure I'm getting what I paid for. If my laptop is faulty then I will return it or if this is how it is supposed to be, and the thunderbolt only shows up if I connect a thunderbolt device to the port?
