Hello
Currently i have hp pavilion 15 cb0xx and it has 8gb ram and 240gb ssd hard drive.
would like to know what ram and ssd drive to upgrade - what is maximum ram and ssd hdd storage capacity?

Yes you can upgrade RAM and SSD capacity. Max memory is 32 gigs DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM. Manual says 16 gigs if the max but well known it will take 2 x 16 = 32 gigs. Doesn't mean you actually need that much. For most people 16 gigs is a luxurious amount of memory.
It can take a PCIe/NVME M.2 SSD which is the fastest kind you can put in a consumer computer. HP only offers up to a 256 gig on it but there is no capacity limit, you can install whatever is available to purchase and 2 TB NVME M.2 SSDs are widely available.
Laptop internal layout:
SSD = green circle RAM = red circle
Start on p. 34 for access instructions.
