HP Pavilion 580-023w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I ordered an HP Pavilion 580-023w from Amazon, but once I got it and booted it, a blue screen poppued up saying ‘Boot Device not Found Hard Disk (3F0). I noticed that this was because the SATA cable from the HDD wasn’t connected to the motherboard. It booted, but two days later the same screen popped up again. This time the SATA was connected. I tried enabling legacy support but the PXE ROM error keeps occuring. I’ve tried reseating the HDD and that didn’t work either. So my PC came with a disconnected SATA cable and a Hard Drive failure. It doesnt seem that I can install windows manually either. Is there any way I can return my PC even after the 30 - day retun policy, or at the very least replace my Hard Drive?

In this scenario, I would suggest this could be a possible hardware failure. Before you could contact our HP phone support, I would suggest you try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the notebook

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Run a extensive test on the hard drive from F2(Please capture the failure ID for further assistance).
