Hi:

HP retires support for PC's more than 10 years old.

It was only supported for Windows Vista.

This site, which is safe to use, has Vista drivers for your notebook...but they should also work on W7.

Here are the links to W7 drivers for the wifi and bluetooth your notebook has.  Hopefully that will fix the problem.

still wifi is not working, it not showing wifi sign on my computer. when i on wifi switch bluetooth opens. In device manager there is no wifi adapter. under network adepater there is only bluetooth device(personal area network),bluetooth device(recomm protocol tdi) and nvidia nforce networking controller

OK, if there is no presence of a wifi adapter in the device manager, then most likely you need to install the HP Wireless Assistant software, restart the PC, and turn the wifi on using the HP Wireless Assistant software controls...

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

If there is no device listed in the device manager that needs a driver, then it sounds to me like the wifi card went bad on you, or needs to be removed and re-seated.

HP Recommended

thank you, it is solved, i re-seated wifi card on its slot. now all working fine.

You're very welcome.

Glad that removing and reseating the card worked.

Sometimes the contacts get oxidized and that breaks the electrical contact.
